  • 2009 Rock & Vine, Cabernet Sauvignon -- The fruit was selected from three ranches located in: Solano County (78%), Napa Valley (14%) and Mendocino County (8%) that showcases why the North Coast is the leader in California for growing Bordeaux varieties. The Solano County grapes highlight the rich and ripe black fruit flavors, while Napa Valley grapes provide the backbone: rich textures and firm well integrated tannins. Finally the Mendocino grapes tend toward dried herbs and a wonderful spice component that rounds out this intensely rich wine. The elegant styled 2009 Rock & Vine exhibits gorgeous aromatics of pure black cherry and cassis interwoven with black tea and toasty oak. Medium bodied, with a solid core of blackberry and dark cherry fruit and hints of tobacco notes followed by great texture, sweet tannins, dense weight, equilibrium and a long finish.

  • 2010 Seven Sinners, Petite Sirah -- In 2010 we decided to re-introduce our Seven Sinners as a Petite Sirah from the Lodi District, an area with a rich and distinctive history for old vines. Luckily enough for us we stumbled upon a family who have been growing rich, dense and intense Petite Sirah grapes for over 50 years. This vintage shows velvety textures upfront followed by deep rich flavors of blackberry jam, blueberry and spice, resulting in a long deep concentrated finish. Opulent and concentrated, while maintaining a food friendly balance, this wine is showing beautifully right now and will continue to age gracefully for the next 7 - 10 years.Varietals: 96% Petite Sirah, 4% ZinfandelAppellations: Lodi DistrictAverage Vines Age: 50 + years oldTime in Barrel: 12 months (one year old French Alliers & Troncais oak)Cases Produced: 2450 casesAlcohol%: 14.9%

  • 2009 Hullabaloo, Zinfandel, Lodi -- Webster's Dictionary (The Voice of Authority) defines a Hullabaloo as : "To cause an uproar or fuss", and we are certain this wine is positioned to do just that! Taking advantage of some strong old timer grower relations, we have been able to source some wonderful old vine Zinfandel from several Napa Valley vineyards. Please don't ask us from where, as we have been sworn to secrecy; just know the same grapes go into wines that retail for three to four times the price. Also since people always ask us about our interesting labels, here is a little bit about Hullabaloo: We chose the classic 19th century strongman icon as we thought it was fitting of the period between 1850 and 1900 (around the time Zinfandel was planted and began to flourish in California). The strongman was not only an exhibitor of feats of strength but his main purpose was also to showcase his great size, boldness and symmetry- kind of describes old vine Zinfandel doesn't it?The 2009 Hullabaloo displays classic Zinfandel characteristics of fresh cracked pepper, raspberries, black cherries and briery fruit. Full-bodied with plush textures and good acidity as well as a nice mouthfeel, this classic well structured Zinfandel will drink well for the next 5-7 years.Harvest Dates: Between October 11th & 18th, 2009Blend: 94% Zinfandel, 4% Petite Sirah, 2% MalbecAppellation: Lodi (Old Vines Zin - Average age between 60 - 85 years)Aging: American Oak (Medium to Heavy + Toast)Time in Barrel: 14 monthsAlcohol%: 14.9%

  • 2009 Parcel 41 Merlot, Napa Valley -- The name Parcel 41 is derived from the original agriculture land assessor's plot number for our ranch in Napa Valley, California. Our limited production Merlot is enormously rich, ripe and concentrated showing layers of blackberry, currant and mocha.Merlot grapes are typically more difficult to grow than Cabernet Sauvignon, which is why the best Merlots are often more expensive. Therefore the goal with Parcel 41 was to make a Merlot that is supple and elegant, yet still has the structure, depth and richness you find in more expensive offerings.Varietals: 94% Merlot, 6% Cabernet SauvignonAppellations: 100% Napa ValleyAging: 100% French oak (2 year old barrels)Time in Barrel: 16 monthsCases Produced: 6750 casesAlcohol%: 14.2%
